Tashan

Tashan Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Tashan is a fine dine restaurant in GK II, M block market. The cuisine served here is North Indian. I have been here quite a few times, and still visit the place for the obvious reason, their succulent food.

And so I was here again, for some quality dinner of course. They have kept the ambiance pretty plain and simple. There service has improved a lot and thats a good thing for them.

What I had tried here till now is:

Baingan ki chaat: A very good option to start with, those crisp auvergne chips in the chat had a too good impression to relish it and the whole dish is brilliantly made.

Mushroom galouti kebab: Kebabs were good, served with some yoghurt chutney.

Also I had veg tacos served with four different dips, the filling in tacos, dips and the bread itself was very good. The filling was served separately to fill in as per the quantity of fillings we want in it.

Other than this I already had beetroot ki tikki in the past, which was amazing, this one also goes for my must haves.

Paneer hungama: This dish for the main course is very amazing, paneer with stuffing of indian herbs in it.

Dal makhani and nadru kofta are the other dishes I had for mains.

For desserts I had bhuni roti ka halwa, baked yoghurt and baileys kulfi. Baileys kulfi, is a must try, its very amazing and definitely not the one to miss. Bhuni roti ka halwa was also good, it had a base layer of bhuni roti then flour halwa on top, eating both together made the taste unique and extra sinful. Baked yoghurt had honey on top to do the work of sweeteners.

For breads I had garlic naan and lachha paratha. I remember methi paratha and caramelised kulcha I had here previously. Caramelised kulcha was something very different and makes the must haves list.

The best part is that every ingredient is being prepared by them in house only.

Taksim

Taksim is in Ansal Plaza, South-Ex. It is on the second and third floor of the mall, though the entry is from back, you come in getting the glimpse of fabulous outdoor seating. In fact its not just for a glimpse, you get to get in from there only, and that is the outdoor area for seating. Inside, on the ground level, there is seating for some about 30 people I guess. They are organising live performances from time to time and the band is also set up on the ground level only. The bar too is present at the ground level. Then there is upper deck for DJ and two private tables, and then there is a private area for private parties on the top level.

I was here with friends for some gala dinner and to my say, I was amused by the ambience at first and then the food served, must say we had fantabulous experience. They were having sufi night, band called the turban band were playing for the night, their performance too was breathtaking amazing. As for Taksim, great ambience, friendly staff, quick service, all in all it was a luminous package.

The outdoor seating too is with an elegant ambience, decors of plants, mini bar for hukka at the corner, long tables, we so wanted to get a table their but the tables were already occupied. We sat inside and to our luck the when the performance started, we were seating closest to the band.

The ambience of the whole place was nicely done, to mention the wooden work, the lamps, live music, bar, barrels, hukka shelf on the stairs walls etc. Also, they have to offer the live screening of sports activities going on around the globe, there was too much for us to gulp in.

We had a few cocktails to start with, started with bloody orange, it was vodka based cocktail, well balanced between the fruits and alcohol, one of the signature cocktails they have. Also I had a red wine sangria.

For the munchies we had salads to start with, fresh veggies, peanuts and the sausages, all the ingredients required to make a salad great were there and in right proportions and the bonus it was dressed on lettuce leaf. Now speaking of the lettuce, not everywhere you get well cooked lettuce for salads, mostly its left under cooked, not the case it was with the salad served to us.

Also we had dahi ke sholey and broccoli dimsums for the starters. Dimsums were very luscious, it had fresh broccoli and chopped almonds in the fillings, giving a great treat to the tastebuds, but I personally didn't find dahi ke sholey as good as I have had in the past from many other places. Dahi ke sholey didn't amused me a bit.

Even we were almost full with what we had for starters but still had a pizza and some mains.

For mains we had dal makhani with breads, Thai curry and rice, the curry was too good, ousted the other dishes we had, the most mouth watering dish of the lot was Thai curry. Also there were a few desserts ordered by us, though we were full but couldn't resist the curiosity we had for desserts.

Also to mention they got some pretty good hukka options in their sheesha menu and pretty well made. For one of the best hukkas I had in the town, Taksim made in to the list.

Pa Pa Ya

Pa pa ya, another feather in the cap for Zoravar Kalra. The restaurant offers food from Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Pan-Asian cuisines. There ain't many places in delhi that offers good Japanese food, Pa pa ya is certainly one of those few places where you can give a treat to your taste buds for the mentioned cuisine. Fyi, the restaurant is on the 4th floor of select city walk mall in Saket.

Also to add, the ambience is done very neatly, the bar counter in the centre, there's a wine cellar in one corner adjacent to the private seatings, seating capacity is also good, that dome in center above the bar will definitely grab your attention.

Coming to food, watermelon palate cleanser was served first to start with and neutralise the taste for the food to be served. Then came our order, we started with 2 portions of edamame, the way those edamame were served was impressive though the quantity we felt was a bit less. We also had Thai ching mai curry with steamed rice, there were a few more dishes but the curry was the best of the lot.

I felt the service staff was lacking somewhat, may be because the place was too busy.

Tippling Street

Tippling street is present in Rajouri Garden. This club/ lounge offers asian and continental cuisine food. The whole club comprises of 4 floors. The ambience/ theme of the place is based on the old London. They got a map of the London on one of the walls. The Victoria station wall clock can also be spotted there. They also got ample of outdoor seating on 3rd floor and huge open area on 4th floor and an open area bar too to join on 4th floor. The bar they got is very catchy, the shelf for liquor at the bar counter goes up to the next floor.

Now the main part, food and drinks. There I had a shermok mocktail and by saying it was smooth I mean it was damn smooth. Besides I also had a ginger martini which again was very mesmerising.

For food we had a few starters, there was paneer, we had grilled sandwiches, we had pastas, then we had pizzas. I liked the presentation of the food alot esp the sandwiches in a wooden box, this is something you can say its different. Pizza n pasta tasted very well among the other starters.

As per the main course we ordered a dal makhani, one paneer, biryani and breads, and again the presentation played its part positively, biryani coming on a small thela type of bowl and breads basket, never been so impressed with the breads presentation. As for the taste both paneer and daal tasted very well, paneer was so soft and tasty to eat and also the biryani, it was very toothsome.

At last we had an oreo shake, so sinful it was just by looking to it...chocolate syrup coming out...filled with cream on top...one js couldn't get enough of it.

And also for hukka fanatics, this is the place to be. Probably the best hukka in town they got. The hukka served here is prepared by hookah craft.

Every single detail has been covered so finely. Each aspect that matters has been taken care of, say it food, drinks, hukka, ambience, service, staff, music, live kitchen etc
